Welcome to the Smartt Status Page. Here you will find information on the current and historical status of our Services, Scheduled Maintenance and Unplanned Outage, both listed as Past Incidents.

Notification:

The Uptime Information for each Service is updated in real-time by our monitors and by our incident response team during unplanned outages. The Planned Maintenance and Past Incident section is updated manually.

Planned Maintenance:

We provide clients 5 business days notice for regularly scheduled and planned maintenance which impacts Service Uptime. In some rare instances, unscheduled maintenance must occur to maintain Service levels in which case we provide clients as much notification as possible.

When there is no Service Uptime impact during a maintenance, a notification is posted up to same business day of the scheduled maintenance.

Unplanned Outage:

In the event of an Unplanned Outage:

1. All updates will be provided on this page and clients will receive automatic notification if they have subscribed to the impacted Service
2. Smartt will post an Incident Postmortem which includes a RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and any actions we are taking to mitigate future events

Resolved - The issue has been resolved and services are functional as expected.

A failure in a dependency service due to a core file issue was causing the transport service eventually fail. We will further investigate on the root cause to prevent it from recurring again.

All queued emails sending to Microsoft-hosted email addresses have been delivered to Microsoft.

We will continue to monitor the mail queue on mail01.smartt.com and take action to minimize email delays. We will also continue to work with Microsoft's support team to create a long-term solution.

Update - We are currently monitoring the situation

With a new workaround we implemented, all emails to Microsoft sent from domains we host except forwarded emails have been delivered

Monitoring - We are currently monitoring the issue and working on our workarounds to minimize delivery delays

We can see half of the messages that were queued since 18:00 PST have been delivered

Identified - We identified the issue causing the email delivery delays: Microsoft is limiting the number of connections from our mailserver, mail01.smartt.com.

While we wait on Microsoft to resolve the issue on their end, we implemented workarounds to decrease the delivery delays. Many clients should no longer experience a delay when sending new messages to email addresses hosted by Microsoft. Over half of the messages that were queued at 12:00 PST have been delivered.

We continue to monitor the issue and adjust our workarounds to minimize delivery delays. We will provide another update by 19:00 PST.

Investigating - We are investigating an issue causing email delivery delays from our primary email server, mail01.smartt.com, to recipients who use Microsoft's email services. This issue also affects clients who forward their email hosted with Smartt to an email address hosted by Microsoft.

We contacted Microsoft's support team to get assistance on this issue from their end while we investigate it on ours. We will provide an update by 18:00 PST.

Scheduled - We will update the IP addresses on the Spamexperts cluster during the early hours on November 6, 2024. The downtime will be minimal as the servers will be switched one by one, to allow uninterrupted email traffic.

The maintenance will only affect the clients using our Spamexperts Spam Filter.
